In Edmonton, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney provides an update on the province’s response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. He is joined by Tyler Shandro (Alberta’s minister of health) and Dr. Deena Hinshaw (Alberta’s chief medical officer of health). The province announces that public-health restrictions will be loosened to allow Albertans who live alone to attend one holiday gathering with another household from December 23 to 28. During that time period, households may host up to two single Albertans. The premier also announces that a second shipment of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine has arrived in the province.
