40 years ago in 1981, AIDS was clinically reported in the United States. Since then it has killed more than 35 million people. In 2014, United Nations announced that we would have only half million HIV cases in 2020. However 1.5 million cases were reported in 2020. In the phase-one clinical trial that began on Monday researchers gave first doses of a potential HIV vaccine these trials involve 13 HIV-negative people aged 18-65. The new HIV vaccine is called HIVconsvX. HIVconsvX can target a wide spectrum of HIV strains so we might be able to use it all around the world. HIVconsvX aims to activate the immune system's T cells and direct them to HIV's most vulnerable areas. The vaccine results will be reported by April 2022.
