The temple, Taleju Temple opens once a year on Dashain festival. The necklace of the Taleju goddess had been lost for the last 40 years and now, it is on display at the museum in Chicago, USA. Taleju Goddess is considered one of the most important goddess of Newar community. The temple was constructed in the time of Malla rule.
